Domestic water pumps are an important part of any home water system. Everyone takes for granted the water coming from a tap or the flush of the toilet, but it is in fact the efficiency of a domestic water pump that maintains this water flow. A water pump is responsible for maintaining the pressure and flow of water in the home, for example your taps, showers, toilets etc. Domestic water pumps can be used in different ways. For example your water at home may run from a water tank, in which case you will require a water pump to utilise this water source (see rainbank pumps). The domestic water pump will pump the water from the tank into your utilities in the home that require water. Some residential areas have poor mains water pressure; if you have poor water pressure at home then a domestic water pump can be added to your system to improve the water pressure. Domestic water pumps typically use your home's electricity to run, however there are also petrol or diesel water pumps which are used in more rural areas.
